Address: Via lodovico ariosto 22 , Milan 20145, Italy Show on map
Situated halfway between Fiera di Milano and Parco Sempione, this fully renovated three-star, housed in an early 1900s building, is a modern, comfortable hotel with decent service and facilities, including a restaurant. The Brera group has several Milan properties, with this hotel and the Ariston offering the best value. The 48 rooms either look out onto the Art Nouveau buildings of Via Ariosto or onto the (quieter) inner garden. The unobjectionably decorated rooms have polished floorboards and high ceilings and vary in features - some have small balconies, some come with Jacuzzi tubs or those silly shower-saunas. The marble-tiled bathrooms are immaculate and always spotless. Breakfasts are good here (unusual amongst Milan's three-stars) and while there's a bar and restaurant, they lack the atmosphere that you'll find elsewhere. The hotel also has parking, making it excellent for those on a self-drive trip, and the free Internet and bicycles are a nice touch.

In pretty Parco Sempione, there are a couple of great bars, Just Cavalli Café and Bar Bianco, while back towards the Duomo there's beautiful Bar Magenta, a great aperitivo spot. The hotel is also quite close to the Church and Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie - where you can see The Last Supper. It's also handy to Stazione Nord where the Malpensa Express takes you directly to the airport.
