Lonely Planet review

Set away from the main drag of Camps Bay but still within walking distance of the beach, this discreet little boutique hotel has just 10 rooms, each individually decorated. There's also a big terrace with panoramic views.

This sleek little place has good-sized rooms, some with four-poster beds draped romantically in chiffon. Flowers and rose petals are scattered across the beds before new guests check in, which is a nice touch. There's lots of wood, wicker and raffia, bowls of seed pods are scattered around and the colour scheme makes use of deep, vibrant oranges and browns, giving the place a rich, African feel. Some rooms also have their own private balconies with potted palms, a table and easy chairs. The bathrooms have generous-sized bottles of high-quality toiletries and deep corner baths. Out in the sitting area, a fire crackles merrily on winter nights, and the long, polished wooden bar provides a pleasant space to have breakfast in the mornings.
