Above the good but dowdy-looking restaurant is this warm and friendly guesthouse with a bunch of slightly cramped rooms squeezed on top of each other. The fit may be a little tight but it's comfortable and the location is excellent.

This is a smallish hotel (30 rooms) in an old building with no lift. The predominant colour scheme on the lower floors is red, which makes the already cramped rooms seem even smaller, although it gives way to a roomier green on the third and fourth floors. All the rooms come equipped with ISDN lines, and the bathrooms are clean and neat, if a little old-fashioned. The cheaper rooms don't have air-con. What really makes this place stand out, however, is its location: almost opposite the Križanke on Trg Francoske Revolucije - ideal for culture vultures. It's also within stumbling distance of virtually everything else central Ljubljana has to offer. If you're looking for traditional Slovene cuisine, look no further than the restaurant downstairs, which has reasonably priced set menus and a vine-covered canopy for summer dining.
