Popular with business travellers because of its location in the cushy Escalón neighbourhood, the Olinda offers comfortable, well-appointed rooms opening onto somewhat chintzy common areas. An excellent buffet breakfast is included in the rate.

Stepping into the Hotel Olinda is kind of like walking into your grandmother's house after she's gone on a shopping spree at the Bombay Company. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed and there's lots of mahogany, stone, and wrought iron. But step outside your door, and suddenly you're in chintzville: lots of candles, craftsy wall hangings, and decorative dolls. Probably not what you'd choose for yourself but very comfortable for a few nights (especially if you consider the flat screen TV and silent air-con). Breakfast is served in a pleasant dining room overlooking a large fountain. Because of its popularity with business travellers, be sure to make reservations for mid-week stays.
