Recently renovated, this once-dumpy hotel is now among the best budget accommodation in San Salvador. New beds, modern bathrooms, parking, and just a block from the airport shuttle. Expect a few annoyances - some rooms are tiny, others loud - but all in all pretty dang good for under the price. This used to be a mediocre hotel, notable only for being close to international buses and the airport shuttle. But new owners and recent renovations have transformed it. Expect new mattresses, spotless bathrooms, cable TV, enclosed parking, even free coffee most mornings. It's not perfect of course: sometimes the management turn off the water in the middle of the night, and the area is somewhat dodgy after dark, but many buses pass by here and there's a taxi stand a block away. Not to be confused with its sister establishment in the Zona Rosa.

The Universidad Tecnológica is nearby, meaning cheap eats and Internet. You can walk downtown, or even to the Boulevard de los Héroes and Calle San Antonio Abad areas - the latter are definitely a trek, though the Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen is along the way. Location-wise, the main attractions are the international bus station and the airport shuttle, both a block away.
