Less a B&B than a small hotel that serves breakfast, this is a homier and less-expensive alternative to the Radisson, just up the street. Rooms are perhaps too chintzy for some, but by no means uncomfortable. The location pretty much requires a car or taxi.A friendly and welcoming hotel, the Lonigo has large and super clean rooms, with firm mattresses, wrought-iron headboards and small wooden writing tables. We were less enthusiastic about some of the decorative choices - floral duvets and frilly doodads are dangerously Martha Stewart. The small, clean pool is nice for hot afternoons, though. The price includes a full breakfast, and the kitchen serves simple sandwiches, salads and drinks until around 23:00. Rooms 1, 2 and 4 cost less but get street noise.

Kamakura is a classy Japanese restaurant a few steps away on 93a Avenida Norte (and there's a cheap comedor (eatery) next door). The closest entertainment is the Radisson lobby bar - not exactly scintillating, but there it is. The Galerías Escalón mall (with the city's best cinema) is a 20-minute walk away, while the Zona Rosa and Calle San Antonio Abad areas are best reached by cab.
