Lonely Planet review
The Sheraton is definitely the lesser of San Salvador chain hotels, which is not to say it's entirely bad. 'Pool view' rooms look onto the pool, yes, but most also have views of Volcán San Salvador and nice terraces. 'City view' rooms don't have the terrace or much of a view - the hotel is on a hill, but with only four stories, it barely clears the trees. The pool may be San Salvador's best though, with a waterfall and children's area, and the Museum of Modern Art is next door. Where the Sheraton trails the others is in the details - wi-fi is available but not standard, the installations are good but not great, room furniture is plain - but it's cheaper than the rest, especially if you find an online special (go to www.starwoodhotels.com and enter El Salvador in the country search option).
