Of the numerous digs near the bus terminal, this is by far the best of the bunch. The Heydi is modern and immaculate, with friendly, professional staff who never seem to miss a beat. And hey, in this price category, it's one of the only hotels that actually puts floor mats in the bathroom. In this city of unremarkable hotels, the Heydi definitely qualifies as 'cute'. The towels are folded daintily and laid across the blue-and-white bed spreads, which in turn match the fabric headboards and curtains. Blue carpet knocks the color scheme home, and little framed art prints add a touch of artistry. The lobby is pleasant and has an almost modern, country-home feel. Adding in its other pluses - cleanliness, considerate and attentive staff and free breakfast - makes this 30-room hotel a darn good deal. Though not ideal, the neighborhood is perfectly fine, despite the hotel's proximity to the bus terminal.

Window-shop your way up Entre Ríos to the beautiful Manzana Jesuítica (Jesuit Block) and explore Córdoba's impressive Jesuit architecture. Then wander up the pedestrian-only Obispo Trejo and over to the tree-filled Plaza San Martín, where you can people-watch for hours.
