Address: 18 madame cama rd, Fort , Mumbai (bombay) 400 039, India Show on map
Perky staff and immaculate rooms including breakfast and newspaper in the morning make the YWCA one of the better choices in Fort. Men and women are welcome and guests have a choice of doubles or dorms.Like Christian Associations everywhere, the Mumbai YWCA is clean, wholesome and slightly institutional. It's a little outside the main tourist zone on the road to Nariman Point, but this ensures a slightly quieter atmosphere and guests avoid the on-street hassle common around Colaba Causeway. Staff are genial and approachable and guests have a choice of quite expensive dorm beds or better value singles, doubles and triples with TVs, fans or air-con and large tiled bathrooms with hot water. The singles are usually booked out by long-term guests, but the doubles are inviting and the tariff includes a buffet breakfast, a morning newspaper, dinner and bedtime tea. The only downside to this hotel is the lack of a lift - you'll have to haul your bags up several floors to reach reception. Credit cards are accepted and there's an Internet and phone centre on site.
