Located in the heart of the hip and arty Brera area, this charming little hotel has for years been the host of fashion and film types, who are attracted to its cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and quiet ambience.

With no real lobby, restaurant or public areas, initially this hotel is a bit of a mystery. However, once you've seen the quaint rooms, all individually decorated in a tastefully simplistic style, the allure becomes apparent. The 11 rooms come in several shapes and sizes and feature details such as Honoré Daumier engravings, Art Nouveau or late-19th-century pieces and some lovely prints. While the bathrooms are small but faultlessly clean and the air-conditioning is still floor-mounted (although that's being updated), there are mod cons, such as wi-fi and satellite television, in every room. Rooms away from the street are quieter, but a favourite room is a street facing one, No 10, which is quite large and with a lovely aspect; there's also a decent sized single room - a rarity in Milan.
