Conveniently located near Termini station, the M&J is one of Rome's new breed of hostel-cum-hotels. It's a popular choice offering beds in no-frills dorms and hotel-quality private rooms. There's a kitchen with satellite TV, free internet, and breakfast, which is served in the Living Room bar under the hostel.

The M&J is a relaxed, sprawling place. Reception is on the 1st floor, dorms and private rooms are spread over several stories. The brightly coloured dorms, two are girls-only and some have their own bathrooms, sleep from six to 10 people. Better than the dorms are the private rooms. These vary in size and look, but the best are decked out in a modern Zen style with slinky low beds and contemporary bathrooms (check out the crimson-tiled showers). They also have air-con, which dorms don't, and safes big enough for laptop computers. Recycling bins are also provided. Evening meals are available in the Living Room between 18:00 and 23:00.
