A hostel with its own bar. That says it all. The Yellow is a hardcore hostel for a young, fit crowd. Regular pub crawls and sociable international staff ensure an upbeat vibe. Accommodation is in mixed dorms of up to 12 people.

As you might have guessed, this is no place for shrinking violets. Or light sleepers. Noise in the mixed dorms can be a nuisance as revellers stumble back from The Yellow bar at all hours. Dorms are clean and reasonably sized, and the best come with en suite bathrooms and air-con. There's no kitchen or common room but most people hang out at the bistro-style bar or in the downstairs games room - anyone for a game of beerpong? Extra facilities include internet access (free for up to 30 minutes), wi-fi, 24-hour hot water showers, left luggage and free linen (although you'll have to leave a deposit for this). Note also that there's an 18-40 age limit.
