This exquisite 1860s Romanesque row house has three antique-furnished rooms, all with private baths and one with a fireplace. Scrumptious breakfasts feature organic products from a local farmers' market and homemade goodies.

The complex seasonal gardens out front are an elegant setting for this gorgeous restored Capitol Hill mansion that is several cuts above the local row house standard. The copper-sheathed, curved bay window on the second floor illuminates the luxuries within. Although it's a B&B setting, the amenities are more business hotel and include fax and computer access for guests. The library (stocked with current periodicals) overlooks the front gardens. A favourite of many is the George Washington Room which looks onto the equally lush rear gardens. The other rooms also bear presidential names - Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson respectively. The former boasts a king-size bed, the latter a cozy third-floor location.
